Winners of the Microscope ACEs 2010 award – IT Support Company of the Year
The awards, which are now in their fourth year are organised by MicroScope magazine, a weekly publication for computer manufacturers, distributors and resellers within the channel and has been published since 1982. The title of IT Support Company of the Year was awarded to the company that could demonstrate a depth of knowledge of the latest systems, but also had the ability to support and maintain legacy systems.
Orchid IT, which was the only firm outside of the South of England to be shortlisted, was required to submit an initial entry which was subjected to a rigorous selection process by a panel of judges comprising of leading industry experts. This was followed by a month long on-line public vote.
This year's competition was stronger than ever with more entries and more votes cast than ever before.
Derbyshire Business Award Winners 2009
Orchid IT were crowned ‘Business of the Year' at the 2009 Business Awards Derbyshire. Orchid beat the challenge from Hilton-based John Bowler Eggs and XJF Plastics in Chesterfield to scoop the award at a glittering awards ceremony, which took place at Pride Park Stadium.
The judging panel comprised of business leaders from both The Chamber of Commerce and NatWest Bank and Orchid had to get through three vigorous stages to reach the finals.
Founder and Managing Director Brett Critchley was presented with a limited edition trophy by actor and TV personality Brian Blessed in front of more than 400 of the region's leading business people and entrepreneurs.
