Chris Tate – Technical Director
Chris joined Orchid in 2005 to head up the fast growing IT support department. Chris brought a wealth of knowledge having previously worked for another IT support business and helped recruit and structure the whole department. Chris has also been instrumental in the development of our support systems, introducing new products and monitoring tools helping make our service desk one of the best around.

Chris' main focus is the management of the support team, introduction of new technologies and the quality of service to our ever growing customer base.
When I joined Orchid I was given a very clear remit: To create the best IT Support Company in the East Midlands.
As our service is delivered using people first and technology second. I built a great team of engineers, administrators and technicians and then gave them the best tools to deliver the service to our clients.
Of course, we can never stand still and that is why I have recently introduced Service Evolution into the team. This is our programme of continual service improvement to ensure we evaluate everything we do and ask “Can we do it better?”
Being named the Microscope IT Support Company of the Year for 2010 was a great vindication of what we are doing, but I see that as another challenge to ensure that we continue to improve standards over the coming years.
My initial remit is still as valid today as when I joined and I very much enjoy working hard to make sure we are the best.
