Orchids corporate customers rely on us being able to offer larger solutions where more emphasis needs to go into the planning and strategy behind the larger IT rollouts. Orchid's tendering department has expertise in knowing exactly what the customer requires and exactly how to fulfil projects within allocated timeframes and costs. Most of our corporate customers have a standardised way of working where what we supply and install has to be matched exactly to what the customer needs, including such areas as stock holding, imaging, asset tagging, recycling, project mapping and consultancy. We also offer the facility of onsite project management where staff will be kept on customer sites, sometime for months whilst the larger projects rollout. With our relationship with some of the worlds largest IT vendors we are able to facilitate more indepth projects such as server consolidation, pay per print, SAN’s and high end backup solutions. The Camping and Caravan Club Camping and Caravan’s remote camp sites required their booking systems to be upgraded from a manual paper system to be fully electronic, the immediate benefits from this upgrade were instant cash transitions, instant booking of the site plots, site information able to backed up every night. Several EPOS companies were approached to put forward a quotation for the EPOS equipment, C&C decided to deploy the technology internally using industry standard EPOS hardware and software. Orchid were involved in the recommendation, supply and consultancy of the Chip PC devices that were used in the EPOS systems on the remote sites. All the equipment was asset tagged, serial number logged, security marked and deployed to the 90 individual sites over a 9month period in conjunction with the project management plan set out between Orchid and C&C
BemroseBooth We have been supplying to Bemrose for the past 9 years where Orchid currently support up to 180 Users and up to 18 Servers. We hold monthly IT/Management meetings to ensure the smooth the transition of new equipment to the site, which is being installed on a regular basis. We carry out all of the installation of Cisco VPN, routers and switches, and work on a proactive basis with Bemrose constantly advising on new technology and ways of keeping their IT infrastructure one step ahead of the competition. Bemrose have a 24/7 Yearly support contract for Servers and desktops with Orchid.
Mothercare Orchid have supplied hardware, software and consultancy to Mothercare Supplies for the last 5yrs, the relationship between the two companies has been based on competitive pricing and great service levels. Some of the products supplied are HP Servers, Dell Desktop and Laptops and MS Software. Orchid have also been involved in providing consultancy on their Active Directory installation.
Speedy Hire Midlands Orchid carried out a migration of on of their 50 user sites from NT 4 to Windows 2000, which included the rebuild of their main servers and installation of raid hardware, we also upgraded all of their NT4 servers to Windows 2000. Orchid currently supply the majority of the hardware and software to Speedy Hire, were we also provide a yearly support contract for their servers and desktops.
