Orchid Vision BDR
Orchid Vision BDR is an integrated, managed backup and disaster recovery solution.
The solution is in the form of a managed appliance that sits at your premises and an off-site agreement to send the data to a secure location.
The solution has the benefit of offering our customers a replacement, virtual server to be up and running within a fraction of the time a typical tape restore process takes. Tapes, although still the most popular method of backing up data, can be both unreliable due to the nature of the format and difficult to perform regular testing procedures against.
Typical Scenarios
- Simple Data Loss

Data can be recovered from a snapshot that is taken every 15 minutes. Multiple copies are kept on the Vision BDR.
- Totally Crashed Server

In the event of a totally crashed server, the server can be initiated directly from the Vision BDR within 20 minutes of the server failure.
The server hardware can then be replaced/repaired out of hours and the image transferred back to the physical hardware.
- Site Disaster

If the site is totally unavailable (fire, flood etc) then we are able to order a new Vision BDR unit pre-loaded with the last nights image from the customer. This can be sent to site within 24 hours.
