Pride Park-based Orchid IT, the Midlands’ leading supplier of IT support and services, has added to its portfolio of service offerings with the launch of a new mobile communications division.

The company, which was recently crowned Business of the Year at the 2009 Business Awards Derbyshire, has announced that it will now be offering customers in the business to business sector with a range of mobile IT support services.

The decision comes after growing demand from existing customers for a bolt-on to their existing IT support services.

The new division will handle a range of devices, including Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Symbian. The team will also offer the remote support of mobile devices.

Orchid will exploit its extensive IT knowledge and unparalled levels of service to offer a service that will enable clients to make the most of their mobile communications and save money.

Commenting on the new division, managing director Brett Critchley said:

“We have been planning to add mobile communications services to our portfolio for some time and given the range of services that we already offer, mobile communications seemed the natural next step.

There remains much scepticism surrounding the operators within the mobile communications sector and many of our customers often comment that their providers provide insufficient levels of customer care.

At Orchid we consistently provide unrivalled service to our customers across our entire product offerings, whether it is our IT support, data cabling or product supply. We aim to bring this philosophy to our new mobile communications division and also look at saving our clients money.

Mobile communications are now as essential to businesses as IT support itself, so it makes sense for our customers to be able to source both service under the same roof.

Our helpdesk team already actively supports Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Symbian devices so it seemed a natural development for us to offer the service to connect, service and account manage mobile devices too.

We will also be offering a bill review service to make sure that our customers aren’t paying over the odds for their mobile devices,” added Brett.
