SME

The SME sector is one of the biggest growth areas for Orchid. We feel that this is an area many other IT companies forget about. In the Derby area alone Orchid cover over 250 SME's for their IT networks. SME's tend not to have the time or know-how to spend discovering new technology or maintaining their network. Orchid can offer the facility to take away any IT burden from customers so that they can concentrate on their core business.

For a typical SME customer we would supply them their hardware, proactively support their network, install new products as advised by Orchid, regularly update them on new and useful technology and help them stay one step ahead of the competition by giving them a reliable, stable network. Orchid are also able to work with local government to assist in obtaining SME’s government grants for their IT.

Kitbag

Kitbag are one of the countries leading online sports ecommerce retailers and a pioneer for internet sales. Kitbag rely on Orchid to make sure they have 100% uptime. Just one minute of disruption can cost £1000’s and for the last 8 years Orchid have kept them 100% fully functional. Orchid built Kitbag’s network from the day Kitbag formed and have helped it grow to support a £20 Million company. Orchid also carried out a full system move to a data centre in London from Nottingham during the 2006 World Cup which was Kitbag’s busiest time since starting. We did this with no disruption allowing Kitbag to continue its normal internet trading.

Orchid supply Kitbag with HP for their servers, desktop pc’s, and laptops. We installed all of the network cabling, Wachguard firewalls, and give them 24/7 remote and onsite support.

Trade Windows

Having heard about Orchid through local press and advertising Trade Windows contacted Orchid to see if we could help as they thought they needed an IT manager. Instead of having to recruit a new employee Trade Windows gave their IT management to Orchid. We proactively support their four companies, Trade windows, Midland Plastics, Roof Fast and Frame Fast. We also supply them with all of their IT.

Wheeldon Homes

James Parkin the MD of Wheeldon Homes, one of the most successful building companies in the Midlands contacted Orchid in 2005 because he needed somebody to take the burden of IT off his shoulders. Orchid now proactively looks after Wheeldon’s IT network. Wheeldon have a VPN and managed support contract with Orchid so James knows he concentrate on his core business, whilst we worry about his IT. Orchid also install Mobotix CCTV into some of the new Wheeldon developments giving more security for their building sites. We also install the cabling of some of the new developments and supply all of the hardware and software such as Hewlett Packard and Microsoft.
